Hello! I've just recently been admitted into both of my top schools and I've been trying to decide which school I want to go to.

I feel like I romanticized the idea of New York just because I love Manhattan so much but I'm wondering if that's compromising my education for an experience.

I'm afraid that if I go to RISD, I'll end up hating it. If anyone can give me insight, that'd be fantastic.

Is either school giving you aid?

SVA has New York. RISD (in my opinion) is an overall better art school. But I haven’t seen SVA, and I have seen RISD, so I’m not sure. I also think the RISD required foundation drawing program is more rigorous (8-10 hours a day). SVA definitely has New York going for it. Providence has some good things, but it isn’t New York.

Mm, SVA didn’t offer me any merit-based scholarships and RISD just sent out decision letters so I’m gonna have to wait a bit to know about scholarships from them.

What did you think about RISD’s campus/dorms?
