Rising Junior, 33 ACT first try. Is that okay?

Here’s my breakdown: 35E 33M 34R 29S. I’m really happy with my English score, but am definitely aiming to improve the other three.

Do colleges care about your first ACT score, and do they take into consideration when you took it? I am a rising junior, which means that my score would definitely be lower than if I took it as a rising senior.

When would it be a good time to take the ACT again? And is a 33 okay for first time?

I self-studied through books and the Internet.

I was thinking of taking it in September, but I feel like that’s a bit rushed since I have to spend the rest of my summer prepping for AP Physics 1 and 2 and going to a university summer program. I don’t think I’ll have time during the beginning of junior year to prep for the ACT either, since I’m going to be pretty busy with 4 APs, 4 clubs, a few community outreach projects, and PSAT prep (I want to be a Finalist for scholarships and college apps).

Yes, that is a very good score . . . congratulations. Most people do better the 2nd time they take it. Spend some time going over the different graphs they use in the science section. Once you know what type of graphs they like to use with different questions, you will get that Science score up with your other great scores. Great job!

That’s fine. You’ll probably need to retake it anyway for your school state testing.
A 33 isn’t bad, especially for a rising junior. I got one point higher and I’m a rising junior, so don’t be spooked
