Rising junior, Chances for UPenn-Wharton?

So I'm a Rising junior and I am basically dead set on going to Wharton at UPenn. I am a Black female from MD and I go to a magnet high school <1000 students. I don't have the best grades but I work really hard and I am planning on joining more EC's my junior year and volunteering this summer. I also take GT classes (the highest besides AP) in every class where it is possible. My SAT's aren't back yet but I should get around a 2000.

Freshman Year:
GT English: B--My teacher was pregnant and therefore, barely taught so we had this illiterate country woman who could barely speak english "because her parents were from North Carolina."
GT Geometry: A
Spanish 2: A
GT Biology: A
GT US Government: A

Sophomore Year:
GT English: A
Pre-Calculus: B (only because of bad grade on final exam)
GT Chemistry: A
AP World History: A
Honors Spanish 3: A

Junior Year Schedule:
AP US History
Gt Physics
Ap English Language
AP Calc AB

Rank: 5/225 (Top 2%)
GPA: 3.7 UW, 5.2 W (as of end of Feb.)
EC's:
Basketball- 2 years so far but plan to do 4
Track and Field- 2 Years
SGA- Treasurer

Awards:
Student of the month 2x
Always on honor roll and some others I can't remember

YEAH MD!!!

Anyways, I think you have a good, chance, just hope your SAT is well in the 2100’s. That’s a institution to get into. You have good EC’s under your belt and keep on working hard, and I’ll think you’ll do fine.

You’re going to need a lot strong ECs than that if your SAT score is only around a 2000

Well first, you need a 2200 SAT, awards and ec’s are on the weaker end, you will prolly be national merit semifinalist because you are from Maryland. You are a URM, but I do not see wharton in your future. I see stern, tepper, etc.

Tbf the only thing on your app (thus far) that’s Wharton material is your class rank. A 3.7, 2000 SAT, and those ECs plus some volunteering + junior/senior year clubs won’t cut it. I suggest you do some ECs that demonstrate interest in business if you’re serious about going to a great business school, and try to have your SAT score start with a 22. You’re a rising junior, so you still have two summers and a full school year to see these things through, which is the bright side… but realize that a lot of kids striving for schools like Wharton are already well ahead in their journey.
