Schools I want to know my chances for: Stanford, UCLA, Cornell, MIT, NYU, Brown, Columbia, Northeastern, Boston U.

Krelian393:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCLA: Reach

Sorry I should have mentioned, I'm a NY resident, an international student (lived in US for 10 years by time applying for college).

Are your applying for financial aid?
If so it will hurt your chances because only a handfull of schools are need-blind for internationals.

Stanford--huge reach
Cornell--big reach
MIT--huge reach
NYU--reach
Brown--big reach
Columbia--big reach
Boston U.--reach

I'm not sure if I'm applying for financial aid. The only aid my siblings got were scholarships from the schools that they didnt even have to apply for specifically to be given, and I know we've never done loans or anything like that. So, no.

you definitely need to pick a couple of matches and safeties- unfortunately with a 3.4 gpa all of those schools range from slight reaches to ridiculous reaches

Krelian393:

UCLA: Super Reach (out of state)

though your ec's are interesting, i would have to say all those schools are more or less reaches.

pick a couple of safeties and matches other than these schools. still apply to the ones you've pick, don't let these comments discourage you! Write amazing essays, and perhaps you'll get accepted.

Maybe you stand a shot at northeastern and BU, but all those others are out of your league. Its a harsh reality, but how many kids really are MIT worthy? I had to come to terms with the same reality, didn't even apply to any Ivy's and am now thrilled with where I'm going anyway. You need to take another look at where you plan to apply, because while your EC's are great and blow a lot of kids out of the water, your stats are run of the mill.
