Rising Second Year Econ Major - iBanking

Hi, it would be great if someone could answer my questions!

After a year at UChicago and exploring my interests in business clubs, I'm fairly certain that I'm interested in a career in ibanking after graduation.
I was wondering how UChicago does in terms of career placement at consulting firms and ibanks? I'm from North Carolina and chose UChicago over Duke due to it's econ reputation, but have heard that UChicago is more geared towards econ majors interested in research and academia, while Duke is more suited for Wall Street.
Also, due to a series of unfortunate events, my GPA is now around a 3.6. I'm determined to bring it up next year, but was wondering how far this is below a typical 1st year gpa for econ majors. Does it make my chances for 2nd year summer internships fairly slim?

Thank you!

Go straight to the UChicago Career Office with your questions. They are much, much, much better equipped to answer your questions, and probably have all sorts of informative data. Anything you hear on this board will likely be speculation.

I repeat: go straight to the career office. Most of the people on this board don’t go to UChicago, and or haven’t been there in some time.

(All I can say is that you’ll likely be completely fine - a 3.6 GPA is very good, UChicago is a wonderful school, and you’ll likely have good options. Again, though, this is just speculation on my part - go straight to those who have data and sound guidance to offer.)
