Rising Senior Chances

I made a post about this awhile ago, but I wanted to give a more updated look.
Grades and rank: 96 uw, 105 w, and ranked 8/404 as of Sopomore year. Junior Year- 98 uw, 107 w, rank either went up or stayed the same. The classes are all honors and AP, including scores: APUSH(5), AP Euro(5), AP World(4), AP Lit(3), AP Bio(3).

Senior Schedule- Includes all honors and 3 AP’s(Macro, Lang, and Calc AB)

Test Score: ACT-26( I know this will kill me, I’m going to retake)

Extra Curriculars, Volunteer, and Awards: JV Baseball two years, one year on varsity(hopefully two), symphonic orchestra since 4th grade(first chair viola), treasurer of Symphonic Orchestra, former Vice President of Intel Science Club and created a project for Long Island’s competition, NHS member(going to run for officer), Foreign Language Honor Society, School Tour Guide, over 100 hours of Volunteer Service(with various groups), and helped create a book for Armed Service members that gets circulated to veterans and current soldiers. I have won 3 awards at my school for excellence in English, Italian, and Pre Calculus.

I plan on majoring in something like Poli Sci, History, or International Relations

What do you think my chances are? I don’t care if I don’t get into CAS or CGS, I just want to go to BU!

You have better stats than me ! Your ACT is a little low, but generally average for BU. I know people that got in with 1800 something SATs and 2.9 GPAs, without any AP courses. It looks like you have a great chance, just make sure your essay makes you stand out! Maybe I’ll see you next year (fingers crossed for both of us of course).

Haha wow good to know. I just don’t want one test to kill me you know? And hope to see you there!

It definitely won’t! Of course kids with higher stats have been rejected, but college application in general seems to be pretty random! Just keep your grades up, that’s all you can really do at this point! And obviously show them that BU is the place to be. They accept more than half of all applications, so you’ll be fine!

Thanks for the encouragement! I just hate that so much weight goes into standardized tests.

Bump any thoughts?

Bump bump bump

Bump bump bump

I think your chances of getting into CAS are very good! I got in last year with a A-/B+ GPA, and yours is way better. I think if you got your test scores up just a little bit, you’d be all set. And your essay plays into it a lot, so make sure you make it really clear in your essay that you want to go to BU :)

Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully my scores go up a bit so I have a better chance. I’m visiting the school in about a week and I’m ultra excited.

Would I still have a chance at CGS if I didn’t raise the ACT score?

any opinions?

no need to stress, you’re in

seriously?

Yes, due to your gpa, you’re in. will you get merit aid? nope…but otherwise, you’re in

Wow alright thanks. Didn’t expect aid, but that’s alright. You think I would be in CGS or CAS?

And does being an AP scholar with honors help?

STOP STRESSING! Your stats are great. Focus on your application and the upcoming school year now!

I’d say you’re in, as for CGS/CAS, that seems a little random honestly. But you’re set either way. :))

Anyway, remember, there’s a place to put all the extra info down.

Thanks I’ve been stressing so much I really want to go to BU that’s why.

Why do you want to go to BU so much? What does BU have that other schools don’t have?
