Not especially, but if it is your only offer, then why the heck wouldn’t you take it?

Average pay seems to be closer to $18/hr and varies pretty substantially by geographical location and industry.

at your level, work for experience

if you think it will be worth it

$12/hr is pretty low, but as has already been mentioned the experience is more valuable than the wage at this point in time.

I would say that $15/hr is good after one year, $20/hr after two, $25/hr after three, and $30/hr after four.

$30/hr is pushing average starting salary levels.

Well yes, $30/hr is $60,000 per year, which is a “good” starting salary for a freshly graduated CS major. I mean, it will be more or less depending on the location, but I think this is in the correct ballpark for BLS OOH starting figures, if not a tad higher.

In this economy, any amount is good. Everything varies by location and industry so if we knew what geographical area the internship was in you might get better opinions. In some places, $12 is about double the minimum wage, in others it is only a third more. Are they offering benefits, overtime, etc. as well?

alright, i was going to take the job anyway, just wondering if it was worth it… its going to be a good experience… i think i get a week paid benefit time for the summer which i think is pretty good.

but yea i though 12/hr seemed low =… but whatever its my only offer…

but yea for a freshman, i think i got lucky since I actually get to do some programming…

I will be in the boston area
