I am a rising sophomore coming out of a bad freshmen year. I did terrible this freshmen year gradewise and EC (I joined none). However now I am determined for next year and I definately plan on doing excellent, and I am capable of it too.

Here are my classes for next year:

English 10 Honors
Spanish 2
Geometry Honors
Entrepreneurship
Biology Honors
European History AP
Gifted Class

I dont think that this is a very good classload if you ask me, atleast not compared to other students who have classes which are worth more pointwise. My overall ranking for 4 years will be hurt because of my freshmen grades (mostly b's and c's).

How should I improve? What should I make sure I do next year, and this summer improve myself and make myself more worthy of Columbia/Harvard/Yale/Princeton/Georgetown/NYU?

This summer is a summer of improvement, please give me any ideas. My main interests are history/politics and business.

doesn't matter. u have a great opportunity here.

get ur grades going up. COlleges will love it. they think, okay this kid was immature in 9th grade but look at how he grew up! they'll really be impressed.

i had the opposite great grades in beginning and basically C student in end. :( In every great problem lies an opportunity in disguise

Dude; I'm also like you (except I got 4.0 :)), I'm trying to figure out how to prepare for next year
