As a rising sophomore in high school, I understand that internships and summer programs positively benefit one's portfolio. I'm very interested in the sciences, math, law, really anything academic. So I was wondering, can anyone provide some ideas for summer opportunities that:

a) are prestigious (preferably require an application process/recognized by top-tier colleges)
b) involve academics and skill (academic-related, once again for college recognition)

In my previous summers, I have been to summer studies programs with Duke University. However, it is to my understanding that these summer programs are not beneficial to college apps, and colleges focus on camps requiring more rigorous applications/ standards.
Furthermore, it would be nice if anyone knew of any summer programs/camps/internships that offer scholarships based on academic qualification/being chosen.
