Rising Sophomore.

I know I still have a lot of time before UVA, but I'm a rising sophomore with some questions. I really want to go to this school, and live in NOVA, but how competitive is it really? I heard the admissions and everything are extremly random and stuff. Right now I have a 4.0 and am in the IB program at my school, so I think I have a pretty good chance...but IDK since it is really random. How competitive is the admissions really? Can those who have been accepted answer? Oh and do they give out likely letters?

You are really getting a head start on this! :D

From the info you've given, you look set. For an in-state student, doing the IB program (Diploma?) with a 4.0, you should be fine. Just keep up the grades, do well on the SAT, and continue with the IB.

Yes, they do give out likely letters, but in a couple years I don't know if they will. They also only give out literally a handfull...very few, so if you don't get one, don't take it the wrong way.

rising sophomore... so you have one year of grades lol. you live in Virginia so I'm sure you'll get in.

UVa's not that competitive instate and moderately competitive. Try not to get any B's, take hard classes, get a 1400+ SAT and play a sport or something and you'll get in. No big deal.
