So I got into Risley, and then saw this:

Now I'm scared.

there are actually a number of cornell students who practice zoophilia…

I’M NOT KIDDING…

Risley overall is known to be weird, but it has some cool people…

oh and do check out the ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW ^_^

haha, at least it has character, right? i was a fan of cici’s stirfry during lunch…the mongo grill at RPCC doesn’t compare

I havent had risleys stir fry since frosh yr but goddddddd it was amazing

Risley is def. weird but there are a lot of good people there. You just have to be open to a lot of stuff if you live there. Good dining hall. Small but good quality food. they do really good programs. they had an interesting program on sex last year with a lot of freebies and skits and stuff and they always have Harry potter themed stuff (FYI) the dining hall in Risley is super cool. looks kinda like the hogwarts dining room.

hahahahaha. That picture’s from last fall! Didn’t know they updated that tour…

Ok, I lived in Risley all of freshman year and will live there for at least a semester this year. Here’s the lowdown:

There are some weird people in Risley. Everyone knows that. These people are hardcore and take a lot of pride in being a “Risleyite.” However, these individuals who appear daunting are few in number. The majority of the people living there are laid back, artistic, and play at least 1 instrument (seriously, I picked up jazz singing, ukulele playing, and a little piano after staying there just a year). If you’re really into music or theater, you’ll have a great time here developing your arts with others. There’s a lot of singles in the dorm and the doubles are pretty spacious. Also, it’s a really old dorm so the walls are nice and thick (The Dickson walls and the other newer dorms’ walls are paper thin). Lastly, the dining hall is awesome. The service is personal and friendly (Matthias is the coolest cat) and the food is always decent.

The only disadvantage would be that Risley is sort of a social bubble in the sense that it doesn’t have as many people as the other dorms. Therefore you won’t be exposed to a lot of people (especially freshman because only maybe a third of the dorm is composed of freshmen). There are ways around it (parties are mostly open) and since there are so many architects at Risley, you’ll hear about a lot of archie parties as well(which are the best parties on campus, I swear it).

I mean, just the fact that I’ll be living there should be enough reason but there are a few others I guess… Let me know if you have any more non-biased questions about Risley.

Oh, and one of my best friends is gonna be an RA there next year so she’s chill.

if by best parties you mean nasty dirty fun, then yes ^_^
