RIT Academic Transcripts question

Under RIT’s freshmen requirement page

The following is posted for Academic Transcripts
“If you are applying for freshman admission, you should take The Secondary School Transcript Request Form to your high school guidance office to be completed and returned to RIT with an official copy of your transcript in a sealed school envelope.”

But on the Secondary School Transcript Request Form there is a little note that says

“Please note: If your counselor has sent or will send your credentials electronically,
it is not necessary to complete or submit this form.”

I don’t understand. On one hand, they are telling us to mail it to them but they are also telling us not to mail it if we sent it electronically. I completed my application through the Common App and my counselor sent my transcript through the common app. Also, on my RIT portal, it has a check mark next to Secondary School Transcript. Does this mean I don’t have to mail anything to RIT?

Thank You

My daughter applied and was accepted ED to RIT via Common App. We never mailed in a transcript–the counselor sent it through Common App.

No, you do not have to mail anything in. That would mostly apply to students who use a paper application. Since it has a check mark next to it you will be fine!
