Haven’t seen a thread started yet for Class 2024. Anyone applying to RIT? What do you like about it and what made you apply?
DS applied ED… waiting! He loved the energy on campus, tech feel. Applying for computer science.
My son applied ED to RIT. Last year ED deadline date was November 15th and students started hearing Dec.4th.
Hoping that since this year deadline was November 1st that we hear a little earlier than Dec.
Does anyone know if athletes hear earlier about admission??
I saw ED acceptances starting on 11/20 last year if search ED class of 2023… hopefully hear this month!
Good to know mom4bear. My son applied ED to RIT and EA to other schools just in case RIT does not work out as we are hoping. The “friendly” ED was a little confusing, but when I called they said no worries, not binding. Good luck!! Hoping to hear in the next few weeks…would be great if before Thanksgiving.
My son applied ED to Golisano for Computing Exploration. Waiting with you all. Good luck to your kids.
Joining the waiting game as well. My son applied ED to GDD. Good luck to all!
I’m curious, where else did he apply EA? I ask only because I’m curious if there are other schools out there my son should have considered. He applied EA at WPI, NEU, Rose-Hulman and a few others. Thanks!
We applied EA to WPI, Penn State as well as Marist, U Scranton. Already accepted at Pitt. RD RPI and Stevens.
Daughter applied last week for ED in the Graphic Design program. Good luck everyone!
I have a dumb question for mom4bear. My son submitted several EA applications in addition to ED at RIT. He has not submitted any RD applications yet and wasn’t planning to do so until he hears about ED/EA. Is there a strategic advantage to submitting RD apps now? Thanks.
I’m not sure if strategic or not… just easier for us to get all done and let the chips fall where they may. Hopefully we will not need to hear from others lol…
We did get acceptance at Penn State for CS last night so another to put on maybe. RIT certainly stays first choice.
My son applied end of October RD, along with his other EAs, now we wait!
My Daughter applied ED to MechE, also applied a couple other schools EA or RD. Hoping to find out soon.
Would people be interested in completing and circulating the following fields (or a subset thereof) once we have heard about ED at RIT? I think next years’ applicants might find it helpful. (Full disclosure: I copied these from a Dartmouth ED forum.)

DS received email about an hour ago… accepted Computer Science!! So excited!
… and she is in! MechE. Along with 3 others in her school (2 MechE, 1 Eng Explore)
My son was accepted ED in Golisano / Computing Exploration. He’s pretty excited. Good fit. Congrats to all! For the benefit of next year’s applicants => 33 ACT, 3.5 GPA UW, National Merit Letter of Commendation, Rho Kappa Honor Society, RIT Computing Medal, 3 legit summer internships related to programming, founded his school’s computer coding club, Caucasian, applied from NJ, substantive volunteer activities over all four years and sincere demonstrated interest (spring open house, summer college/careers weekend and on campus interview). I suspect his letters of recommendation were strong and I thought he did a pretty good job on his essay.
DS applied ED Games and Development BA and got his acceptance yesterday. This has been his first choice since he visited last April but finances may still be a factor.
How long should it take to get the scholarship letter? Also, it said that FAFSA results will not be in until early Jan. That is a crazy long time to wait to evaluate finances, or am I missing something.
Congrats to all! Looks like last year merit offers went out 8-10 days after acceptance. Of course never know for sure! Fingers crossed! DS first choice by far…
