RIT RD Class of 2023

@sdl0625 She liked the vibe of RIT when she visited. She has other schools on her list that are ranked higher that she will hear from this month, but she also eliminated other higher ranked schools from her list once she visited and didn’t end of applying to them.

@Artful4art Some kids got $20K in merit scholarships–my son, a Physics major, got a $20K Presidential merit scholarship.

Sadly, won’t be attending, I just got the finaid award back and it’s bad. I have an efc of 0 and got 22k+ worth of loans, which is almost my mom’s entire salary. Oh well.

Does anyone know when the next wave of RD decisions are going to be posted?

Just got our financials. They did give us a grant of $7000 bringing it down a little, but I know I will ave 2 in college for only 1 yr & I don’t think they count my 2nd if she goes to grad school so I dont know how affordable this is. Also reviewing the spreadsheet of costs for he next 4 yrs brings it up another $10,000.

I don’t think anyone knows, but I’m guessing tomorrow.

RIT dose not commit to fully met your financial need. .

My son got his RD acceptance to ME/Aero around 3 today. In the acceptance message, it says:

“Accepted applicants who have been awarded merit scholarships from RIT will receive a separate notification letter. Students who have submitted the 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will receive an award letter in the coming weeks.”

There is nothing else in his portal. No separate notification letter regarding $. I need to know whether he got any merit. Does no additional letter in the portal mean no money or will that come later? Should I call their FA office.

My son got his about 3 pm today for Mech Eng

I believe others who have been accepted got their merit within a few days and need-based aid in a week or so. You may just have to wait and if he doesn’t hear anything by the end of next week then contact them.

S19 got the merit email the day after the acceptance. Full aid came two days ago, so within the week of the acceptance.

My D19 also received merit email the day after the acceptance notification. The hard copy of the award came a few days later via snail mail.

Really hoping I can get a decision this week?

My son hasn’t heard yet either. ?

All decisions are supposed to be released by mid-March, so Friday at the latest seems likely.
