where would you go for computer engineering? RIT, Case Western Reserve University, or University of Rochester? Who has the best placement after graduation? Which has the best social scene (parties, things to do on campus)? Which has the least amount of students who hole up into their rooms all day? Who has the best facilities?

I'd take U of R

I never looked at RIT, but I would take UR over Case any day. I mean UR and Case both have pretty bad social scenes.

"Which has the best social scene (parties, things to do on campus)? "

Talk about the best of a sorry lot. Seems like if you could get into those you could have picked someplace just as good that is actually fun too.

I'd go with Case because Cleveland has some rockin nightspots.

I actually party all the time at Case.

you can pm me if you want specific info.

@ barrons

I applied to lehigh, flat out rejected. Also accepted to union, but too LACish I think.

Seems like you'd have been a good candidate for most Big 10 schools many of which have very good EE/CE depts. And advanced eng classes are not that big.

I'd choose URochester...more balanced social scene than Case or RIT.

xxpor-
Where are you from? I would choose U Rochester.

What kinds of activities do you consider fun? Every college has its share of parties. But I wouldn't want a school where getting drunk is the primary social outlet. The more selective the school, the less drunkenness and alcoholism you will find. Drunkenness is a big problem on some campuses.

I don't know about Case, but Rochester has a more "balanced" student body than RIT, since it's not a technical school. It's got strong humanities and social science students that you wouldn't necessarily find at RIT, which would likely lead to a more diversified social scene. For example, RIT doesn't have an orchestra or theater, whereas Rochester is very active in those areas.
