I recently got into RIT for the new media interactive development program with a decent scholarship. How would you say the reputation of RIT is in the design industry?
I'm really concerned because RIT doesn't seem to have a high over all ranking.

RIT is a great place and is garnering a stronger reputation in the industry each year. Forget about the rankings, which are mostly for graduate programs and are questionable at best.

Manga-girl was accepted into the RIT illustration program for Fall 2013. RIT is her #1 choice. Waiting to hear about financial aid/merit aid. She was also accepted to Alfred University, College of St. Rose, University of Buffalo, Arcadia University, and Soka University of America. She is interested in pre-Art Therapy.

One thing I’ve been able to observe in recent years is how useless ranking systems really are. The criteria often measure quality superficially.

My daughter has been accepted into the Fine Arts Studio program at RIT also. She has her heart set on this school. She also got accepted to Syracuse U and SUNY New Paltz. What rankings are you referring to?

I Think the overall rep of this school is so good that upon graduation, you will be fine.
