I’m considering transferring to either RIT or the RPI for a BS in Information Technology. I just simply want to know which one will have a better chance at landing me a better job in all runs (short, mid, & long). As well as what I should decide to do with joining the Marines as a professional officer.
I know the RPI’s Information Technology & Web Science program (ITWS) program is a very difficult program. The problem is: As I’m at Monroe Community College (MCC), I want to sign up for the RPI’s NROTC (Marines option) ROTC Program, and the only way to do that is if I go to RIT. As there’s no cross-town agreement with MCC and the RPI.
I know RIT requires co-ops/internships. Their Information Technology degree program has a 2+2 program agreement with MCC (Monroe CC). The only problem is: RIT’s IT degree program isn’t as hard/difficult as the RPI’s. The RPI in Albany does in fact have a better reputation than RIT’s (known fact).
I’m wondering what I should do about NROTC (Marines option) along with this debate. I know I’m running out of time quickly to sign up for NROTC (Marines option) due to the scholarship requirements & whatever.
The University of Rochester (UR) does have a cross-town agreement with RIT/MCC for NROTC. I’m just wondering what to do, simply.
What school/University should I transfer to (BS Information Technology) for NROTC (Marines option) programs?
