<p>you guys might already know about this but in the interest of starting conversation, here are the beginnings of an attempt to start a rivalry between brown and columbia.
in the end, think both student bodies were too apathetic to get it off the ground but it’s pretty entertaining nonetheless</p>

<p>because i'd like to see the brown forum not have the least amount of posts and we're so darn close...</p>

<p>which ivy league school do you think would make the best rival for brown?</p>

<p>the only school brown seems to love to hate is harvard, probably because harvard is so close and their endowment scares the hell out of us. but it's not much of a rivalry since they don't care much about us. plus, everyone loves to hate harvard.</p>

<p>around the time of the above editorials, people on campus were pretty split between columbia and dartmouth</p>

<p>I don't really know much about Brown athletics, which is generally where rivalries get started, but I'd say whoever Brown plays on a regular basis, and is fairly evenly matched with woudl probably be the best target.</p>

<p>i'm actually a first year brown med student now which kind of makes me a loser for hanging around this forum. i just really love brown and want to be helpful to people who are about to go through what i just finished.
(i was also an undergrad at brown)</p>

<p>i kind of like columbia, because it's on such on opposite end of the spectrum...the whole "core curriculum" and all...</p>

<p>brown students are too chill and laid back to care about rivalries. theyd be like 'whatever, pass the granola' haha sorry for the granola joke i couldnt resist. (i never can)</p>

<p>my feeling on campus is that dartmouth is the closist thing to a rivalry that we have. i could see columbia working too though.</p>
