I'm a freshman in high school, and I'm wondering what courses colleges will look for in buisness undergrad applicants. I'm already planning to take economics, inetnships, and buisness managment. Are there any others that you could sugggest?

You don’t need to focus on anything in high school - you need a solid, liberal education in the English language, mathematics, social sciences, and laboratory science. Make sure you take English all four years (the highest level possible), four years of math (again, highest level possible), four years of social science, and three-four years of laboratory science.

Don’t focus on your career goals in high school - that’s not the point of secondary education for students with the capacity to attend higher education.

Don’t go into business. Look at the financial mess we are in. Maybe by the time you are out of college, we will be out of this financial mess. The housing bubble was 5-7 years in the making and we are only recently seeing the first couple waves of mortgage defaults and home foreclosures.

lol Anarchist your school offers so many courses. my school is small so there are not so many options :(

financial mess means we need more financial people to figure out how to solve the proplem… business will always be needed and if not you can always use that business degree for almost any industry or grad degree

Its not just a financial mess. It is the greatest financial mess since the Great depression. Of course the financial jobs are take the hardest hit. You don’t honestly believe there will be a greater demand of jobs for financial ppl when the economy hits bottom do you?

Its like saying we have to invest in a new generation of petroleum engineers when we know President elect Obama has promised to move towards clean renewables within the next 10 years.
