My daughter wants to be an elementary school teacher and we are looking at the different schools in and around VA. So far, Roanoke is her top choice because she loved the school size, location, campus and the area. Unfortunately, I know the least about their actual offerings as compared to other schools we looked at that have larger education programs. I Know they don’t offer a special Ed certification (5th year) so not ideal, but also not a total dealbreaker since she could go someplace else for her Masters. Anyone have any insight into their education / teacher prep program? Some other schools on the list seem better for her major but of course no place is perfect and don’t seem to be as ideal from a campus safety perspective.
