Robert Byrd Scholarship for Florida

How exactly does the nomination process work? do they take your SAT highest combined score or, god forbid, one sitting score? Do they really convert your SAT score to a less specific ACT score before they determine who is nominated? I have a 1470 highest combined, a 1460 highest sitting, a 33 on the ACT, and 3.9821 unweighted. There is another student with a 4.0 unweighted and 1460 SAT score (one sitting). I hate how there is only one nomination per high school with no adjustment made for class size. And I looked on the DOE website and the info about the nomination process is very vague. I can find info nowhere else on the web.

anyway, what would my chances be, for those familiar with Florida's process?

I am in Florida. I think you have to apply for bright futures by 3/15 and check the box that says you want to be considered. Then your school must make a nomination by 4/15. I think they convert your highest sitting M+V to an ACT score, though im not sure whether they round or not. Does a 1590=36 or 35.8 or 35? Then they multiply that by unweighted GPA.

uhhh well if thats true thats some bad news for me. my last hope then is if I get my 10/28 SAT rescored, which I plan to do this week.

does anyone from a previous year know approximately what SAT/GPA combo it takes to win?

I concur exrunner. can anyone from Florida that won this give us your stats or at least the minimum stats to win?

btw they said my rescore service wasn't available and was too late anyway. bummer

my school nominates one student.
