has anyone in california received notification?

I got notified by mail today that I have been awarded the scholarship. I’m in SC, btw.

how many winners are there per state?

Number of recipients per state varies. I think the federal money is divided among the states based on population. It is then up to the states as to how to distribute the money.

ugh its the middle of June. I just got back from a trip, and I still haven’t heard from Texas. I wish they notified you either way.

Anyone hear from Michigan yet?

btw we base ours off of unweighted GPA and MME scores

Still no word in AL either!!

Trying to be patient, but it sure would be nice to know.

Every state is different in its total allocation, its application of the award money and how it does the application process. In AL, 15 from each congressional district (7 districts, 105 students) are normally awarded a total of $1500 per year. Hopefully, that will be the same this year.

Anyone from Florida heard about results yet?

Here’s the link for Georgia winners. Son has not been notified, but got this from another winner’s parent.

Briefly emailed the New York office. They responded by saying, “The 2009 Robert C. Byrd has not been done yet, maybe late June.”

Thanks for the update Renaissance.

how did you find the contact info for the NY office? I’d like to do the same thing for CA but I don’t know where to start…

Thanks!

Try your State education web site and do a search there.

I received my notification today in PA.

I emailed the contact person in FL. She was out of the office, but somehow my email got forwarded to someone else. She emailed me back. FL students will hear by June 30th. They will hear by email or hard copy.

zebes

Whoo Hoo! GA winner in our house - my computer couldn’t load the GA pdf from above. First year independent homeschoolers were allowed, too. :)

I emailed the Texas contact today and he said it would be another couple of weeks before they mail results to the winners. They’ve just begun the selection process.

NY notifications are out–I got mine today.
It was an extremely pleasant surprise, since I forgot all about it…
