Among the deluge of college mail my D is receiving, the brochure from the Robert E. Cook Honors College (at Indiana University of Pennsylvania) really stood out for her. I found some threads here which referenced it, but they mostly discussed the summer program, or just mentioned that it existed. Does anyone have any experience with the college? I must admit that it looked appealing to me as well, but it's really hard to judge just based on the brochure.

I live about 40 minutes from IUP and have a few friends in the Honors Program there (one for teaching, one for tech theatre, and one is there for business). Please feel free to PM me, I see your are from OOS…so I’ll try to be as exact as possible

PM giftedgothic; she will be attending next school year. (I attended the summer program, SHP, with giftedgothic in 2008.)

I read about it in Cool Colleges

and thought it sounded really great. Not for everyone, of course, but a very neat and unique program. I’ve not heard of anything like it anywhere else.

I know a girl that recently graduated from IUP and the honors college. She and her Mom can’t say enough good things about it. I’ve always thought that it has the best honors college in that tier of our State Colleges. The housing looks especially neat. [The Robert E.
