I don't know if anybody cares to read this, but since I never found any detailed information about Roberts beforehand, I'm going to post here and review it.

It's location is pretty convenient to Jester, Gregory Gym, and Brazos Garage.

The first thing I found out was that there are NO elevators. Major suckage. Good thing I didn't bring a baby grand piano with me. The rooms aren't too big, but they're not too small either; in other words, they're manageable to live in. Windows don't open of course...guess they think we're all suicidal. Makes me feel like I live in a mental institution...

The bathrooms were nice and clean. There are two showers and two bathroom stalls on my side of the building. The showers were much bigger than what I saw at Jester although the changing area is shared between one shower stall and the other...meh. Oh, and so far it's been nice and quiet. I like it like that.

The bottom floor is kind of dim...You can tell that this building was built in 1936, but that's not a bad thing. It just has history. I really hate that all the windows are nailed close... I mean what if there happens to be a fire and for some strange reason the doors won't open or they get jammed?!

Anyways, this is my first day here. I've only been here for about four hours...So what do I know...four hours of being here I guess feels like it goes a long way.

:)

I would live here in the fall if I could. Hope I get it!

Prather, Brackenridge, and Roberts are all about the same. I lived in Prather last year, and will be living there again this year. Everything sounded as your described it, except Prather has slightly larger rooms (unless you get a corner room).

I found Prather very social, while Roberts was less social just because of the layout of the stairwells and hallways.

And yeah, no dorms have windows that open. It’s just a UT rule. They nailed shut the ones that used to open, and Jester windows don’t open at all.

I just never got a chance to see either of the three. I havent gone out enough to see how the stairs are. There’s like different stairwells…but are parts of Roberts cut off? Or does it all connect…I should just walk out and look but meh.

I love that its freezing though haha.

Certain parts don’t connect. I know in Prather the “I” section doesn’t connect to the J/K/L sections, and the first floor of the K/L section doesn’t connect to the J section. I lived on the first floor in L last year.

You should walk around and check out all the dorms. You can cross from Robers to Brack on the ground floor, there is a gameroom underground in the basement that connects them. If you go to the very top floors in Brack there are some blocked off rooms on like a 5th level. It’s called the penthouse and apparently it used to be grad student housing, but it’s not used anymore. Some people claim some student died up there in the early 2000’s or something, but I’ve never heard anything official.

Ooo. Scandal! Yeah I walked around. The halls are so dimly lit. I like it.

Do you know if my id card gets me into all dorms or is it just mine?

Are they blocked off like they just don’t open or is there going to be like CAUTION CRIME SCENE DO NOT ENTER time things? I would like to see this though.

I wish the windows opened and there were such things used like penthouses. That would be so cool. I love the way everything has history; like Gregory gym; the outside of the old part looks so neat and so does that big indoor athletic pool.

WOW. WOW. WOW… connecting game room? I must see this.

If you live in Brack/Roberts/Prather your ID card will get you into all three, but none of the other dorms. I think if you live in the honors quad your card works for all of those too.

And yeah, there is a game room in the basement between brack/roberts. It has billiards, ping pong, and there is a kitchen down there too on the brack side. Prather has a TV lounge with a pool table, and also the vending machine room (lol, what) has a Foosball table but there was never a ball.

I’ve never actually seen the indoor pool in Gregory, it was closed the day I took a tour because of rain or something.
