^I agree…

So when will we hear back from them? And do the candidates invited to Robertson Scholars weekend include both the Duke and UNC applicants? Know anyone who won this in past years?

The next step is a telephone/Skype interview for semi-finalists. You are notified of semi-finalist standing in late February, and interviews are conducted via telephone or Skype in early march. My understanding is that you are only contacted if you achieve semi-finalist standing. I do not believe you will ever receive notification if you do not make the next step. The deadline for semi-finalist notification is March 6; if you do not receive an e-mail by March 6, you are not a semi-finalist.

Shortly after these interviews, finalists are notified of their selection and are invited to attend Finalist Weekend. This weekend consists of interviews with the selection committee, and will take place from March 26 to Marth 28. Applicants attend Finalist Weekend at their respective campus. If you applied for Robertson at Duke, your finalist weekend will be at Duke. If you applied for Robertson at UNC, your finalist weekend will be at UNC. I’m not sure what happens if you applied for and are a finalist at both schools.

On March 31, recipients of the Robertson Scholarship are notified.

If you are a finalist at both schools, they call and make you pick one, I think. At least, that’s what I heard.

Anybody received any notifications for semi finalist???

Seeing this topic bumped absolutely freaked me out!

Nope, nothing here (yet). Should be closer to the end of the month.

what was the notification date last year?

March 1 at about 4:30 PM.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-north-carolina-chapel-hill/858122-robertson-scholarship-notification-5.html

The year before that, though, it was on February 21st. So there’s really no way of knowing. Could be any day between now and March 6. :/

Semi-finalist e-mails just went out. I didn’t make it.

:( :(

I wanted this more than anything. :/

Just got my robertson email, didnt get it, as expected. They sent out emails to those who did not get the scholarship, which I believe they did not do in previous years? Not sure about this.

I didn’t get it either, wasn’t expecting to though.

@davidandthebomb

Haha, yeah, they said they would only send e-mails if you advanced. So when I saw the e-mail with the subject “Robertson Scholars Program”, I freaked out thinking I had made it. So cruel.

Here’s the full rejection e-mail, if anyone’s interested:

And my stats: 2350 SAT (800 CR, 770 M, 780 W), 4.0 UW GPA, 4.86 W GPA, Student Body President, Junior Civs Director, Interact VP, leader of many similar service-oriented clubs.

Thought the same…so excited to open email…and then started to read it…oh well moving on to plan B…No way can afford Duke…

I didnt get in either:( i thought i did since i thought they didnt notify rejections but im going to start a thread to see if any ccers got it but good luck to you guys i know it will work for us :)

Do we have any hope for the other merit scholarships (AB Duke, BN Duke, etc.) if we were rejected from Robertson?

In past no likely letter, no Robertson= no merit money from Duke

^ Are you sure? I thought Duke had good financial aid. :/

Financial aid =/= merit money. He’s strictly referring to the merit scholarships offered by Duke, not the need based aid. See [OUSF: Office of Undergraduate Scholars and Fellows](http://www.aas.duke.edu/ousf/) for more information.

That sucks. I wish I knew what was wrong with my application(s). :(

I mean, my EFC is kind of low…so I figured I would be getting a lot in need based aid…

Duke meets full need, so yes, you will. They’ll cover everything up to your EFC. (Duke’s calculated EFC might be a bit different than the EFC calculated by the FAFSA, though. They should be fairly close.)
