How competitive is getting an interview for the Robertson?
Unfortunately, I had the deluded idea that I was going to be accepted ED to my dream school, and, well, that didn’t happen. That said, I didn’t put much effort into my Robertson (both UNC and Duke) application. While my essays weren’t horrible, I don’t think they were stand out by any means, either. I have pretty good ECs and awards. (For privacy sakes, I will not list here.) My test score is top one percent (35). My class rank is top 3%. So, I have all of the academic stats checked. I’m not sure how good my teacher LOR was, but my supplement is pretty good; I’ve read it. I am very comfortable with interviews. How competitive is getting to the Skype interview round? Follow up: if one makes it to that round, is more weight put on the interview or the application when selecting the finalists for the weekend?
If anyone made it past the application-screening round of the Robertson, please help me out. Thanks!!
Getting to the interview stage of Robertson is extremely difficult. You’ve got to have hooks on hooks that stand out in your app that take you there seeing as you’re up against thousands of applicants vying for the same thing. While I see you’re academically stellar, I can’t really speak much about you not knowing your EC’s. If your essays don’t really stand out, I don’t think making it to the next round is a possibility. More weight is put on the interview past that stage btw. I don’t believe they refer to the application after the initial stage (until finalist weekend of course).
