"End of February, 2009 - Select students are invited to participate in phone conversations with the Robertson Scholars Program. We will only notify the students that advance to this stage of the selection process."

Robertson Scholars: Selection

Though I wonder if, by the wording of "select", you can be a finalist without having a phone conversation? I doubt it..

february 23.

^how do you know the exact date?

they emailed.

Anyone know how man applied this time round?

sorry that meant to say how many

when did you get an email?

I applied, but didn't get one...did my application go through?

i got my email dec. 2

this was part of it:
After reviewing the Supplemental Materials Forms, the Robertson Scholars Program will request the admissions applications of those students we find especially compelling for further consideration. Then two selection committees will choose students from each campus to participate in phone conversations in early March. Unfortunately we will only notify the students that advance to this stage of the selection process.

From these phone conversations approximately 100 finalists are invited to interview at one or both universities during Finalists' Weekend (March 28-31, 2009). Following finalist weekend, approximately 36 new scholars - 18 at each university - will become part of the class of 2013.

...yeah i didn't get an email either.

uh oh, does that mean i didn't get it? :(

I got the same email that smeagz got but mine says nothing about February 23.

yeah i got that email as a receipt of my application submission.

I didn't get an e-mail with a specific date in February, either.

yeah I still don't understand where feb. 23 came from...mine just said late february

Thank you for submitting the Robertson Scholars Program Supplemental Materials form.
During the next stage of our process, we will select students to participate in phone
conversations based on their Supplemental Materials forms and their admissions
applications to Duke and/or UNC-Chapel Hill. As a reminder, we only will be notifying
the students selected to participate in these phone conversations. These invitations
will be sent via email by February 23, 2009.

We appreciate the time and energy you put into completing our Supplemental Materials and
enjoy being able to learn more about you. As the selection committee reviews these
forms, we are inspired by your heart, impressed by your mind, and encouraged by your
action. We have no doubt that you and your generation will change the world.

Thank you again for your interest in the Robertson Scholars Program of Duke University
and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Please feel free to contact us with
any questions or concerns by replying to this email or by calling our office at (919)

oh man, i didn't get that one

nope, i didn't get that one. sighhh i hope that doesn't mean anything :( :(

does anyone know if robertson is harder to get than pogue? academic wise?
im pretty sure morehead is even harder than both!

edit: oh wow this is the duke forum, whoops!

I'm pretty sure the robertson is more selective than the morehead, but there are a lot of factors to consider I guess

See

Robertson Phone Interview

It should appear as an e-mail.

Good luck to everyone! (Sincerely, considering my GC felt that I'm a completely hopeless applicant, and I'll probably be out of the running after the phone interview)
