Hey everyone,
Just thought I'd start this thread to get future UofR'ers to start discussing the school, their stats, opinion, etc. I'd like to start off by saying that this school, while I feel like I could get into "better" schools, is a good fit for me.

Yes. i agree with eps96. i really like the school…even though it is a “match” school and i might try for higher schools i feel like UR is a really good school for me and fits me perfectly.

I am out of state and planning to apply Early Decision.

I have an average unweighted gpa…but i have 13 AP classes. how will this factor in?

Hello, I’m planning to apply Priority Review, and I’m out of state. I’m not like other CC’ers so… that means that I don’t believe I could get into “higher” schools. I do have some schools that are supposedly better on my list, but I doubt I’d get in.

Let’s just say… I believe “average” on this site means 3.7-3.9, which is not me. I’m somewhere between “3.0 to 3.3” and “average”. Granted, I did have a personal problem in 9/10 grade, and it was a more pronounced issue in junior year. I’m trying to have an upward trend for senior year.

Total weighted class count: 7 APs, 1 college class, 6 honors classes.

My SAT is okay - 2220, but since I’m Asian that won’t matter.

I like the size, research opportunities, not-as-rigid distribution requirements, and lab equipment. I wish I knew more about what the student body is like, but I’ve heard Rochester described as “easy to make friends”, “schools for the socially awkward”, etc. I do believe it’s a good fit.

Iamthat student, 13 APs is pretty impressive and definitely will be taken to account. That being said I think that your Sat’s and GPA need to be on par as well.
