Rochester Institute of Technology - ID?

Hello,
people say I was supposed to get a 9-digit ID number or something regarding financial aid from RIT upon applying.
I asked my friends who applied to RIT but none of them got it, and neither did I.
What am I supposed to be looking for? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

What you’re looking for is an RIT Student ID number. It’s nine digits long and formatted like: XXX00-XXXX. It will always have those two zeros in the middle to distinguish it from being a Social Security number (which would never have two zeros in the middle like that). You will not get a Student ID number just for applying, you’ll get one once you’re accepted and they assign it to you.
