The RSI thread is a bit crowded, and, as I'm sure we all know, RSI is highly selective. That being said, there are still some really good summer research programs out there for HS students--especially if you're from NYC (or the 'burbs, Rockland/Westchester). I did the Rockefeller Science Outreach program and it was great. It's selective too, but not nearly as much as RSI (i think 20% are chosen)- http://www.rockefeller.edu/outreach/students.php

The Rockefeller labs are amazing. So are the people you meet. There's more info on the site, but generally, around 10% make intel/westinghouse semis, and many students get to coauthor papers for journals.

Bump! Definitely think about applying- even if you're not from the city area and have family you can stay with. Last year, this one kid came from Chicago and stayed with his cousins in the city.

I could live with my uncle in Manhattan (let's forget that my sister commuted for a course at NYU before her senior year)!!!!! Ok this program is definitely a possibility now. :P

Last year, it was from the beginning of July (orientation is June 28th this year) to about the middle/end of August- but you can keep going to the labs regularly after that if you're a student in NYC

Ahhh! All these summer programs you have to be 16 to apply and I won't be 16 until July, and that's past the starting date of the program.

Sorry to be asking a kind-of off topic question on your thread, but does anyone know of any programs where you can apply even if you're just 15?
