I have been accepted to the Rockefeller University Summer Science Outreach Program. Do you know how good this program is compared to other top programs (Clark, Simons, Magee-Womens, Boston U, etc.)? I am looking for an intensive research internship but I don't have a lot of experience and I want adequate guidance.

Thanks for your prompt responses!

Are you sure you got accepted? At this point, they should be only placing you in a lab…I know I misinterpreted the email they sent and thought I got accepted, only to realize that it was just another step of the admissions process and I still have the chance of getting rejected.

If they can find a lab that will take you (after the lab interviews you) then you will be formally accepted.

Good point…I had not gotten a lab placement at the time of posting but now I do have a lab placement. Thanks for the post! Good luck :)

do you have to get the letter to be accepted ?

Should I be worried that I only recieved a confirmation email saying my application was received? Do you know how selective this program is?

Is anyone else going?

I’m going! I’m guessing you are going too, saturnne…what’s your lab?

Population Council, what about yours?

What’s that about? It sounds cool though :)

I’m in the Laboratory of Genetically Encoded Small Molecules.

Cool! Mine’s outside of the university… I think. You should check out the website.

Oooh I looked it up! It looks really interesting.

Yeah, I’m so excited! And seven weeks in NYC sounds amazing. Do you have any idea about the program’s acceptance rate?

bumping this because i too would like to know the acceptance rate
