Hi everyone,
First off, thanks for reading this, I really need help.
I'm a rising senior this year and I really want to apply to Med. school. But problem is, I had a fairly rocky freshman year (nothing horrible, just a 3.3 GPA and one withdrawal from a non-science class). I go to an Ivy, and am a double major. Starting from Soph. year, I really pulled myself up - i took the hardest classes and got mostly A's them. Right now, my GPA is a 3.67 (give or take one or two 0.01). My MCAT: 35. I am just wondering how much the frosh year performance will set me back: I have two C's on my transcript...in non-science courses. Thanks.

not a problem. I got C's in Organic sophomore year. You're GPA is strong and your MCAT is very, very good.

you've got a great gpa and mcat score. apply, apply! Don't degrade yourself.

GPA is ok and MCAT score is good. Shouldn't be a problem getting into med school.

Obviously, as always, you should not limit your application to the most selective few schools, but that has nothing (well, very little) to do with your freshman year scores. It's just wise to apply broadly in general.

My rule of thumb is that I don't recommend applying anywhere where one's numbers are below their averages, barring special circumstances like race.
