Roger Federer: A God Truly Walks On Our Earth

This guys is simply unbelievable(in case you haven't heard)!!! He's won 3 consecutive US Open titles as well as 3 consecutive Wimbledon titles, making him the first player in tennis history to accomplish his feat. I don't know whether it's good or not for the sport of Tennis but Federer has made the game more one-sided than I have ever seen it before. It's only a matter of time before Nadal succumbs to Federer in the French Open. In fact, besides possibly the French, I don't even see Federer losing a grand slam anytime in the foreseeable future. What do you guys think???

totally annoying.

zero personality.

win streak in an era of weak competition / weak overall men's tennis.

well he's def a great player. one of the best.

but i agree with prestige, zero personality.

however, the competition is definitely not "weak". it's just that federer dominates so much that it seems everyone else is on a lower level. the men's side just seems to be a lot more inconsistent than the women's, except for federer. but they aren't "weak". the men's game is a lot more different than the women's side and it's harder for the men to stay on top. that doesn't mean the women's side is weak either, just different.

but i really don't care about federer. he's just so...ugh.

HAHA I COULDN'T AGREE MORE!!! You know what, I bet he fell on the floor after winning that last point today just to show some emotion so the crowd doesn't come down and attack him or something. One of these days, when he wins a Slam, he's just going to smile and walk up and shake the hand of the challenger nonchalantly.

Evil, calm down. Your sarcasm is disturbing.

Federer isn't a god...yet.

I'm sad that Roddick lost. At one point in the third set I thought he actually had a chance of winning.

^haha. yeah right. i doubt roddick is ever gonna be great. he just doesn't have the game for it. no net game. horrible backhand. the only thing he's got going is his serve which is incredible, but if his opponent just learns to block it back (like federer does), then he's just average.

federer can be beat, it's just he's so damn consistent and has the greatest shots. however, nadal has figured it out, and i'm sure others will too. and the guy's human. he's bound to slip up or just start to get beat. it's gonna be a boring few years of men's tennis if he doesn't. haha.

*just for the record, i know roddicks a pro and therefore his strokes can't be that horrible or average. but it's all relative.

actually, i think it's going to be interesting to see who gets who first, either federer taking nadal at the french, or nadal taking federer at wimbledon.
both pushed each other to the limit at both 2006 finals.

and roddick didn't suck that much, it's just that federer turned on the nitrous at the end of the 3rd set and didn't look back. lol

when federer wins on clay then we can start talking. He is a great player. If he beats nadal on clay he would be a tennis god.
Am I the only one that feels that the people covering the US Open wish that Sharapova was American so badly

Federer is a tennis god...he doesn't need to win the French Open to prove it. Pletny of greats were unable to complete the career grand slam...like our beloved Pete Sampras. With that said, Federer is still only 25.

except Nadal is Federer's daddy

icer,

well, american tennis needs some help. so i guess its understandable. haha. she did move to the states when she was 9 to train at bollettieri and has been in FL ever since. but she's still tall, blonde, and russian. and she still has russian citizenship, so there you go.

American tennis def needs help. 3 in the top 50 in the ATP. roddick-6, black-8, and ginepri-40. 5 in the top 50 in the WTA. davenport-11, shaughnessy-41, perry-42, venus williams - 43, and jackson -47. serena's still around though.

but yeah, the USA needs some help. russian women are kicking ass and taking names. haha.

I agree...Federer is awesome and it's only a matter of time until he masters the clay...but until that time, I refuse to call him a god.
Of course, in that amount of time, Nadal, who is younger, could overtake him on the grass and hard courts. We'll see.
As for Roddick...he has improved greatly in recent months with Jimmy Connors behind him...he too will only get better.

i hope federer never wins the French.

I think we could be seeing more of Andy Murray. Although not in a major, he was able to beat Federer and has also beat Roddick multiple times...as a 19 year old.

As for Federer being emotionless? He reminds me of a robot made to win tennis...

Federer > Nadal

Also, great potential in Monfils, though he won't be winning majors anytime soon.

nadal's still learning the ropes. he's gotten knocked out of a lot of majors relatively early (2nd round of wimbledon 2005, 3rd round of US open 2005, quarters of this years' us open), while federer has made the final of the last 6

we'll see. both of these guys will be hanging around for a while (another 4 years? nadal even longer) so we'll see how their rivalry turns out. nadal's definitely an up and coming player. he's my fave =)

federer owns the field, but nadal owns federer. personally. haha (nadal has won 6 out of 8 meetings)
