Role of Fraternities at Willamette

Can someone describe the Greek scene at Willamette? How important is it to be in a fraternity to feel fully socially integrated?

It is not important at all

Thanks, roar. Can you expand on the social scene in general at Willamette?

Being in a fraternity or sorority on campus does not have an impact on how integrated one feels on campus. I’m in a sorority at Willamette, and have made a lot of friends through it, but I have also friends that are not involved in the Greek community at all.
The social scene in general is very relaxed. A majority of people are interested in art, theater, nature, sports, debate…really a variety of people. People are generally nice and always looking to make more friends. You pretty much cannot walk across campus without seeing some one you know, or at least a face you recognize.
The great thing about WU is that sorority/fraternity recruitment is delayed until the spring semester, so you can always get to know people before going through recruitment, if you so choose.
I hope this helps!
