Roll Tides In Los Angeles

It was a close men’s basketball game in Los Angeles on Saturday and we were lucky enough to attend. How many times in his 4 years at Alabama will DS’s Crimson Tide play his parents’ Bruins at an NCAA sport, we asked ourselves, so we made the effort to be there. With a minute to go the game could have gone either way, and Bama gave UCLA a run for their money.

There were just a few dozen Bama fans in Pauley Pavilion. DS wore plenty of crimson, and we exchanged Roll Tides with a good number of the other Bama fans. One exchange was with what looked like two newly accepted incoming freshmen going to their first Bama game. We heard, “Go on, you’re supposed to say it …”, then a tentative “Roll Tide” in our direction. We three replied with a hearty “Roll Tide”, despite us parents wearing bruin blue. That seemed to go well!

Fun!! Kind of reminds me of my D asking me (as a committed HS senior) if she was supposed to say Roll Tide back or say thank you. :)
