Rolling Admission?

I am applying to a school whose application says after the date the application is due: "decisions will be made on a rolling basis".

What exactly does this entail?

Does it mean that decisions regarding acceptances will begin on the date the application is due and they will begin making decisions with the first applications they receive? Or that if I send my application and all necessary documents to the school a month before the deadline, admissions will make a decision then, even though the deadline has not been reached? Or some other meaning?

In a nutshell:

The earlier you apply before the deadline, the earlier you will know about getting in.

So then, in theory, it would be possible to get a decision before the application deadline, if you managed to get everything in early enough?

yes...........

I believe, once all the necessary docs. are submitted a decision will be reached. Normally schools will notify you in 4-6 weeks after the supporting material has been submitted.

Alright, thanks.
