Thinking about applying pretty early for a couple of florida schools due to rolling admissions opening up in July/August
However I won't be able to send my October SAT score that could be amazing (studying pretty hard and learning what my mistakes were) nor will they have record of 2 semester length honors classes with A's along with another course I'm retaking to replace a D I got freshman year with an A added to my transcript

So if I get rejected in early in the rolling admissions cycle can I apply again? would the advantage of being looked at early matter much for me?

im not that competitive if that makes any difference: GPA of a 2.9 UW (4.3 W due to all honors academic courses + some honors electives and 4 AP classes so far) and SAT score of 1390 CR+M.

I would wait and apply after you receive the SAT scores. The other option is to call the admissions office and ask what they recommend. What does your guidance counselor say?

I don’t know how rolling admissions work with every specific schools, but most will simply defer decisions if they feel they need additional time. It might not hurt to wait a little while, but there are also advantages to getting applications in early. I think that your weighted GPA and test scores are probably good enough to go with now. Even huge public universities will contact a guidance office or registrar with questions - Rutgers did that with my older son, regarding his math courses, shortly before accepting him.

You don’t say which colleges but the general rule for all colleges, including those with rolling admissions, is that once you are rejected, you cannot reapply for the same starting semester. You may be able to appeal the decison with “new” information but you won’t be able to reapply. If the school is rolling admissions and it starts rolling out admissions before November (there are many rolling admissions schools that do not send out any decisons before Nov or Dec), you risk not having the Oct score considered, although your current M/CR score is pretty good. I don’t know about the courses you mention. Are thiose summer school courses? If so, you should just wait at least until they are out to apply. If you are talking about courses you will be taking first semester, senior year and grades you expect to get, then those may be too late for rolling admissions schools, many of which make a very high percentage of their final admisison decisons before first semester senior grades are even released.

3 of the lower State school Im gonna apply to out of the 5 overall i’m gonna apply to have rolling admissions
USF, UCF, UNF
Im pretty concerned about applying because all florida schools recalculate GPA with only academic classes so my GPA will be even lower (probably like a 2.5 UW) hence why i’m taking some courses online to try and bump it up

and I cant reapply for the same semester is the benefits of applying early worth it for an iffy applicant?
