Rolling Admissions at UMich

should i just apply like now as early as possible or wait until i retake the ACT in late september get those scores back and then apply? my ACT score right now is 28...GPA is around 3.5 michigan GPA is 3.43 and SAT is 2100, 1410 M+V...which do u guys think would give me better chances?

bump....please help

Your SAT score is better than your ACT, I don't know if you are sending one or another, but i'd only send your SAT. About taking it in September - you will need about a 32 to equal your current SAT score, so I don't even know why you would take it, unless you feel you can improve 4 points.

There is nothing wrong with applying as early as possible. The earler, the better. Your test scores aren't what's going to hurt you; it's your GPA being a 3.43 on Michigan's scale. That's low for an applicant, in the bottom 25%. Good luck!

i think i already sent my ACT score and SAT score to them but when they see it they'll take into account my higher score which is my SAT right? and they'll just disregard the ACT since its lower as of now?

Yes, they will consider the highest score, on whichever test, to be your score.

oh ok...so do u guys think i shud wait for ACT or just go ahead and apply?

Go ahead and apply, there isn't much you can do on your ACT that will help your application, unless you pull off a miracle (34+). You're basically set in everything you will be applying with (grades, test scores), and the earlier you apply, the better chance you have.

Remember to ask your teachers for reccommendations early! Same with your counselor!

by the way, is rolling admission binded?

nope, you are not bounded to attend unlike DE.

BTW - you'll likely be deferred, which means your Senior year grades being strong could get you into the university. Work hard this year in school.
