Rolling Admissions for Cal Poly

Assuming Cal Poly has made its offer of admission to the applicants with the highest stats, department by department, doesn’t it make sense that a lot of the other applicants, still waiting to hear if they are in or not, will have to wait until some of those offered admission already officially decline the offer?

There were so many in this forum who said Cal Poly was a backup for them; I am thinking particularly of the engineering students…

Cal Poly was a backup for me but now am strongly considering over the UC's. Going this week to check it out before April 11 because of housing...hearing that their engineering program is better than the mid-tier UC's, that is why I am strongly considering...

I've heard the same things re: engineering. So do you have until May 1st to let them know?

Yup may 1st I believe is the date for regular admitted students. However, if you accept near May 1st, getting on campus housing might be difficult.

So the %'s are something like 41% of the applicants get admits and then 47% of those actually come to the school. That was last year, bet this year is even fewer admits... If you haven't heard by now, call admissions, they promised Ap 1 notification.
