Hi , I am applying to Cockrell school of engineering from OOS and I am unfamiliar with rolling admissions. How much of a disadvantage am I at if my application was not completed until Feb 10th and I applied for a competitive major (Petroleum Engineering). I have a 4.0, excellent ECs related to major, and great recommendation letters. Is there a possibility certain majors are already filled up and I just applied for nothing? Should I worry? Thanks in advance

Do you have 30 credit hours already? Many students who don’t apply anyway, and they have to send spring semester transcripts in May to show they meet the 30 hours requirement. Their applications are not even considered without that final transcript.
This is the main reason for “rolling admission”

I have 80+ units in addition to the units I am taking right now in spring.

Are the majority of acceptances made after the March 1st transfer deadline??

I believe that the same office and the same people make decisions about both freshmen and transfer students/ Right now they are very busy with freshmen admissions. They are supposed to notify everyone (freshmen) by March 1. After that they will start looking at transfers’ applications.

So no transfer students have been admitted yet? How about considered? Thanks for answering my questions btw you have been more informative than their website cares to tell prospective students.

I don’t think that any transfer students were already admitted. You can check posts from previous years to find out when people reported that they were admitted.

Could not find any before this week.
