Rolling Admissions Timeframe

Can some people please say around how long it took to receive a decision from a school with rolling admissions... I know it's different for everyone, but I was just wondering if there is some sort of timeframe

Check the colleges you are applying. It can vary wildly - for my three kids, the fastest was 2 days and the longest was about 2.5 months (for rolling admissions). Generally the colleges will give you a rough idea. But generally the earlier you apply, the shorter the time frame (because they aren’t inundated with applications to read). Lots of kids don’t get revved up about applications until late fall/early winter.

^ Absolutely. I saw one poster say today that their D applied as soon as the app was open and didn’t find out till Christmas.

Also, rolling does not mean it has a fixed turn around time. Highly qualified applicant may hear back earlier. So someone got admitted within 2 weeks at certain school rolling admission does not mean you will hear back within the same time frame.

I applied to only two rolling admissions schools, both on December 21st. I heard back in late January for one and early March for the other. Most of my other friends who applied to those schools heard back in the same week or the following week, while a couple didn’t hear back until a month or two later. So it varies a lot. Waiting for the acceptances was grueling, but checking the mail every day became my favorite activity because I never knew when I would find an acceptance letter.
