Rolling Admissions to State Schools -- How Early Should I Apply?

I meant to say 1) if you want your Oct. score to count, don’t apply so early that the score won’t be there at the time your application is being considered 2) as an aside, I said that our HS doesn’t have the transcripts out until October so you should check with your HS to see when they are available to be sent out.

@javislife1998 - Based on my D’s May SAT scores and GPA she was somewhat above average for Pitt and UMD-CP, so we considered them both matches, but UMD_CP was a little more competitive. She applied to several other schools and was accepted. Each school usually has a profile (SAT scores, GPAs, Rank) of the previous year’s freshman class somewhere on their web site, so look for that to see how you compare. I also suggest looking at the college specific forums on this site. My D will be attending UMD-CP, since she got into the highly competitive Honors College there and we are also in-state.

Almost all of them are on the common app. And not all of them have rolling admissions . Uconn does not . Neither does umass. I don’t think uri and Delaware do either but penn state does

Indiana is rolling admissions? Michigan it seems might be rolling after Nov. 1? How about UVA? Florida and Florida State I believe were rolling/preferred admissions? How about College of New Jersey?

Indiana is rolling. And students must apply before Nov 1 to qualify for automatic merit scholarships.

@javislife1998‌ you have to look closely at the info available. for instance UMich has EA which ends 1 Nov and RD which ends 1 Feb. http://admissions.umich.edu/</a> But the do accept on a rolling basis. http://alumni.umich.edu/learning/college-admissions-faq</a></p>
