Rolling admissions

I heard UMich uses rolling admissions. How does it exactly work? I applied today, so does that mean that I will know my decision in a few weeks?

Not anymore. They are now on an EA/RD schedule: [Office of Undergraduate Admissions: Early Action](http://www.admissions.umich.edu/prospective/applying/earlyresponse.php)

The RD part is rolling after Dec 23.

^ Really? That’s interesting!

I’m confused…

^ I would trust GoBlue rather than myself.

So… approximately when should I receive my decision notice?

Rolling admission doesn’t work like this. You will hear back sooner if you are real good (admit) or real bad (reject). If you are borderline, you may have to wait till they have a chance to process all the applications.

Michigan changed their website… It now says “Students whose applications are complete after the Early Action deadline will receive decisions on a regular admissions basis.”

Regular used to say rolling…

What does that mean? I’d be nice to know approximately when to expect a notification…

The admissions office told me twice that all RD decisions will be released in April. I think they mean it.

Oh, alright. So all of the rolling information was just from last year?

Michigan’s decision process has just been so confusing this year. I know it is because of the switch to CommonApp, but still.
