Rolling Admissions

Colleges that have rolling admissions with a deadline of Dec. 1.
Does this mean that applications handed in before Dec. 1 will all be read together as an "early action" group?
Or does it go first come first serve up until Dec. 1?

I hope i'm making sense.

I've never seen this before. Why don't you just ask the college(s) involved?

I agree with DianeR. Ask the colleges involved. It's too important to assume anything.

This is what it means in our state system. The deadline (which is much later than Dec. 1) is the last day they will accept applications. They will start accepting applications beginning Sept. 15. Applications will be processed as they are received. In practice, the students who apply around Sept. 15 often hear back within a week. By mid-October, it's more like five or six weeks.

The earlier you apply, the better, as some campuses have been known to close applications early when the class is filled.

That's one "rolling" system. I am sure there are lots of variations out there, so ask your specific colleges what they mean.
