rolling admissions?

uga decisions aren't rolling are they?? meaning, do i really have to wait until april to hear for regular decision?! ugh, i wish all this waiting was overrrr.

Yes, I believe you will have to wait till April 1st. Well, April 1st is by when you should receive it from snail-mail, and so I'm assuming it'd be online before then.

However, I hope I'm wrong about this because I can't wait till April 1st either!

Care to share your stats?

I don't know if this is true, but I've read that some people got their decision for RD way before April, thus suggesting that small waves of decisions are posted before April. But like I said, I have no idea if that's true.

Rumors....you have to wait til April...sorry.

Not true ...my daughter has friends from her school that got in in February last year.

What's the truth? I'm so confused! I'm going to try to call them tomorrow.

Contacted admissions and they said no rolling admissions, students will all be notified at the end of March.

Thanks brd; that saves me time from having to call them tomorrow... it's painful to wait till the end of March, but it's a must-do. We, prospective students, have no other choice but to wait it out.

I promise you , it is rolling. We had a college night at my daughters school last night. The principal stated that "as of today we have had 39 accepted and 5 deferred".We have a website that tracks all the students in the school for the last 5 years, their stats, schools applied to,and their outcomes. It is called Navience and some schools offer this. Her school clearly had 9 people deferred on Dec 15.As i said earlier, we had friends get in in Feb last year. The only thing i can come up with is that maybe this only happens to deferred students and not to regular decision students.

Sorry, it is called Naviance.

When I talked with the admission officer he told me that they have 2 acceptance times, December 15th and the last of March. If you are deferred you are put in with regular decision. A friend ask by e-mail and they told her- "We will make decisions at the end of March (April 1st is our target date) after we have reviewed the applications several times over. We don't do rolling admissions to give our office the chance to review all apps." Of course there is always hope that I will hear sooner!

Most people will have to wait until April.

@Space: What do you mean by most people? Do you mean that some will know UGA's decision for them earlier than April 1st?

Due to the different beliefs expressed from the prior posts on this thread, I contacted a UGA faculty member; he clearly implied that everyone will know at the end of March or at the beginning of April.

Patel, that means that everyone will know by then...not that they will be notified on the same day.Your school counselor should know when students hear from their schools.Just ask them.My D goes to a small school so everyone knows what is going on.Again, i promise you that the reply date means on or before the end of March.Students do hear from UGA before then.Four deferred students have gotten accepted since Dec 15.Hang in there, your grades show you are a good student.Did you do a one on one interview with them?

Okay, wagdawg; also, thanks for complimenting my grades. I'll make sure to talk to my counselor today. Unfortunately, I did not get a one-on-one interview with them.

@wagdawg: Sorry, but everyone, including two different UGA faculty members that work in the undergraduate admissions office, told me that no one will know the RD until the end of March or first week of April.

You might want to double-check with those girls again.

Like everyone else I am going crazy. I have already been accepted into the School of Music but have not heard from admissions. From out-of-state, 1190 SAT, 3.2 unweighted GPA in IB, and lot's of extracurricular -- mostly all band and music.

Crossed fingers in SRQ!
