<p>It definately matters when you apply. You’re much more likely to get in with lackluster grades if you apply early in the cycle. Space will surely be limited come May. At that point having a B vs. a C in a particular class may be a moot point.</p>
<p>colleges don’t care about midterm reports, they care about your semester grades.</p>
