My daughter is a senior and her grades this 1st quarter are excellent and shows great upward momentum. She is applying to schools with rolling admissions. Her sats are not very good. Should she apply now before her grades come out or wait until the end of Q1 which is mid November....

^^^

It depends on what her stats are and which schools she’s applying to.

Where is she applying?

What are her stats?

Quarter grades don’t often get reported on transcripts. Transcripts usually only show semester grades and/or year-end grades. So, even if you wait until mid Nov, there may not be any grade 12 grades on her transcript.

ALSO…rolling admission schools are often more LENIENT with lower stats during the early part of the application season, so it’s better to get the apps in ASAP.

If you apply early and stats are still too low, many rolling schools will wait to see if later scores/GPA will improve. In other words…they won’t outright reject…they will wait and see if better stats are forthcoming.
