i submitted my common app on new years eve during the day. then i sent in my resume, fin aid app, and supplemental recs late.

By what I'm sure was some kind of processing mistake, I have also been accepted into ILR.

For those of you still waiting, I think we can conclude that decisions are not mailed out based on when the app was submitted (I sent mine in on Dec 31) or based on superior stats, since I got in on a pretty mediocre 2120 SAT and 3.6uw GPA (4.41w). I was extremely pleased to find that a respectable curriculum, work experience, good extracurriculars, and some kind of miracle made this happen. For all of you poor test-takers like myself out there, there is definitely hope.
Congratulations to everyone who has heard and good luck to those of you who are waiting! I hope I meet lots of you sometime soon.

intl_echo, i wish i had a 2120 SAT score to call "mediocre".. I agree with rw9700 that the 1st wave of applicants are the most qualified ones... now I dont expect to get a reply til April fools:) you guys make us look bad..

Well, an application consists of more than just the Common App and Cornell's supplement - there are also the teacher recs, school report, standardized test scores, mid-year reports, and interview reports. Perhaps the committees began reviewing the first application files that were ENTIRELY complete. As the last document submitted, the mid-year report could be the determining factor. I know mine was mailed out about a week ago from my school; I don't see why Cornell would send me a decision this week when they could just wait until March 29th and have my complete file.

I'm curious now - for all you acceptees, when did your semester end/when was your mid-year submitted?

My midyear report was sent in the second week of February. I really do not think the midyear report is as big of a component as I know a lot of people who got likelys before their midyear report was processed. But my midyear grades were decent enough anyhow.

my mid year report was mailed feb 26, so they accepted me without it

My scores aren't that impressive compared to everyone else who has gotten in! I'm totally impressed, you guys.

Hm ok never mind then lol

I know a kid who got in with scores in the 25th percentile. He's not an URM either so who knows what they are doing.

im shocked i just into ILR with a 710 verbal 640 math 560 writing

and a 3.5 weighted gpa. i had good ec and essays though

i got into irl too
i have decent scores 2340 on my SAT, but i think irl accepts a lot more based on extracurrics and such

2340 is just decent?!? ya right lol, i wish i had that kind of score

I hope ILR accepts more on interest/activities as opposed to numbers. Now I'm going to be really nervous, checking application status!

Congrats on getting into ILR! Did Cornell notify you, or did you have to check the "application status" page to find out? It seems like some ILR applicants have already been notified, whilst others (like me) haven't.

It's going to be nerve-wracking checking each day the application status online then...
