Rolling? EA/ED? Here is your answer!

Since I am just all knowing now a days...(haha)...Well really I went on a campus visit on Monday and they told us about this...but they finally posted it online! Click the link (I don't know how to put the little quote thing in)

<a href="http://www.admissions.umich.edu/early/%5B/url%5D">http://www.admissions.umich.edu/early/</a></p>

Looks like a good plan. Hopefully this will help take some of the worry away for those who don't procrastinate.

Super18blue, does UMich ED/EA require you to withdraw all other ED/EA applications? Did they mention this when you visited?

No, it seems like this plan is still the same rolling admission process, only now they have a set date on when you find out if you apply by the "priority" deadline. This is not ED or EA but rather "Early Response" so it is non-binding and you can still apply to other schools!

Finally! Thanks for posting =)

:) i like how michigan is being prompt with the info

I just want to clarify that "defer" still counts as a "decision" under this plan. For some students--hopefully a small number--there will still be waiting involved. They could apply by the "early" date, get a "defer" answer back, and then be waiting until April for a truly final decision. Which defeats the purpose, if you ask me, but then no one did. LOL

hey-if i take the ACT on September 15th next fall, will my scores come back in time to get in for this early appplication deadline? and just what is a good, solid ACT score for an OOS person?

i like how they gave us specific days which decisions will be going out.

So hoedown are you saying that they are not abolishing the April 15 defer decision date? Six months or more is a loooong time for a decision....

Yeah it seems like you could take the ACT in September it would be there on time (it usually takes around 4 weeks I think), but it says that they don't accept rush scores!!! The middle 50% is 27-31, but I would say for OOS you should be towards the higher end (I'm applying OOS too so I hope this holds true!)

Eeeeeee <333 UMich :)
