Does anyone have input for schools that have strong engineering departments that can still be applied to? A friend is looking for schools and I just want to help out.

Missouri University of Science and Technology (used to be called U of Missouir-Rolla):

Clemson University
Purdue University

Rose-Hulman is rolling.

here is a link to a site that lists several colleges that have rolling/late admissions - although not by major, you would have to do some additional checking for that

Another option might be to attend a community college for the first year and take some of the intro math/science classes that will be required for most engineering programs and then transfer to another school. Many engineering students do this to save money.
